| Young
Voters and the Web of Politics:
Best Practices Youth Engagement
Sites
The bulk of our findings suggest that
the youth engagement websites were characterized by an
interactive, multimedia environment, and the youth websites
we studied also used interactive features more often than
campaign websites.
A number of sites, however, stood out
in their use of the special characteristics of web communication
to help engage young site visitors both online and offline,
and to build important links with other youth enagement
websites. These examples fall into three groups.
Using
interactivity to engage visitors online
Using interactivity
to engage visitors in offline activity
Using links to build
a youth engagement network online
